I was born and raised in Canada. I come from a diverse background of English, Irish, French and Metis. With such a mix of cultures within me, I am compelled to paint a varied expression of life.
I am essentially a painter of women, or should say, have been. I continue to paint the female in various genres, but mostly as commissions. These days I am exploring elements of nature - trees. I am concerned with the connectivity of all life - for me trees are an essential life force, and a great vehicle artistically, to celebrate form and colour.
Like all my other works, I abandon the traditional styles of oil painting and embrace a modern expressionistic style. Like Cezanne, I say "to hell with linear perspective". I make all my subjects paramount, and the trees follow in this line of thinking as well.
I have lived in the USA for over 7 years and had a studio/gallery in Cincinnati for the majority of that time. (Pendleton Art Centre)
These most recent 4 years I have been living in South America - Buenos Aires, Argentina. The magnificent trees there entranced and enchanted me, compelling me to a modern expression of trees. As of late, this is my focus.
I am presently relocated to Canada, the beautiful Ottawa Valley.
